Bay Glace Nova Scotia

We left Louisbourg around 1pm after touring the Fort Louisbourg and probably got to Glace Bay mid afternoon 2-3pm. Although we could've gone on a tour of a Coal Mine Shaft Under the Ocean, we chose to only go to the Guglielmo Marconi Museum in Glace Bay.

It was a tough call between Bay Glace history mining and the Marconi museum. The Bay Glace Miner Museum would've been good. This is not to be confused with the Marconi Grill.

This site was the North American location of the first trans-atlantic wireless message. (Not to be confused with Marconi's first trans-Atlantic signal, which Newfies remind you, is part of their heritage.) The towers have long since been torn down, but you can see the concrete footings that once held them. It's not much to look at other than a field of grass, concrete, and blueberries.

Guglielmo Marconi Radio Tower had stood on this site

Outside lies the site of the marconi antenna. It was a terrific Guglielmo Marconi invention.

Inside you could read the Marconi Biography, or at least a portion of the biography of Guglielmo Marconi, while looking at some Guglielmo Marconi pictures.
